Why can’t migrate order date to Shopify?

When migrating orders to Shopify, the original order creation date (created_at) cannot be preserved. This is because Shopify auto-generates the created_at timestamp via API, and currently does not allow third-party tools to override it.

Therefore, LitExtension uses the processed_at date, which reflects when the order was fulfilled or processed, to represent the original order time as closely as possible. This date will appear on your Shopify orders and is used in most analytical reports.

Note: If you’re migrating from Magento to Shopify or WooCommerce to Shopify, and want the timestamps to align accurately, ensure the time zone and date format settings are the same in both your source and Shopify stores.

This time zone alignment feature is only supported for Magento/WooCommerce to Shopify migrations. For other Shopify migrations, the platform’s limitations apply by default, and the order date will be based on the processed_at value.
