Benefits of Migrating to Shopify with LitExtension
1. 3-step simplicity, effortless
Migrating your online store can seem daunting, but LitExtension’s Shopify Migration service, designed with a straightforward 3-step process, offers a remarkably simple solution.
This streamlined approach offers significant benefits over traditional, more complex migration methods.
The most immediate advantage is the minimized time commitment required from you. Instead of grappling with technical details and troubleshooting potential issues, your focus can remain on running your business.
What’s even more, you don’t need to be a coding expert or hire a team of developers since this simplified process also eliminates the need for extensive technical expertise.
LitExtension handles the complexities, allowing you to proceed confidently, even without a strong technical background. This ease of use, coupled with clear, concise steps, leads to a significant reduction in stress often associated with platform migration.
With LitExtension, you can approach your migration from/to Shopify with confidence, knowing the process is designed for clarity and ease from start to finish.
2. Selling while migrating
Moving your eCommerce platform doesn’t mean having to put your business on hold. When you choose LitExtension for your Shopify migration, you can keep selling without interruptions as your data seamlessly transfers to your new Shopify store.
Different from traditional migration methods that often require you to put your online store on maintenance mode, LitExtension wipes out this downtime and minimizes the risks of lost revenues.
Our advanced technology ensures your current store keeps your store up and running and remains fully functional throughout the entire migration process.
This means your customers can continue browsing products, placing orders, and enjoying a seamless shopping experience while we transfer all your data behind the curtain.
3. Data security guaranteed
With LitExtension, you can rest assured knowing that data security is at the forefront of our Shopify migration service.
We understand the critical importance of protecting your information, thus, we’ve implemented robust measures to ensure its safety throughout the entire process.
Our secure migration system utilizes advanced encryption technology to safeguard your data during transfer.
This means your information is converted into an unreadable format, preventing unauthorized access as it moves from your existing platform to your new Shopify store.
In addition to encryption, we employ strict data handling protocols and access controls. Only authorized personnel, under strict supervision, can access your data during the migration process.
This multi-layered approach ensures your information remains protected from any potential threats.
4. Risk-free experience
We understand that migrating your online store to a new platform can feel like a leap of faith. With LitExtension’s Shopify Migration service, we take that leap with you, ensuring a risk-free experience from start to finish.
We achieve this by offering a comprehensive set of features designed to eliminate potential concerns and provide complete peace of mind.
Before committing to the full migration, you can take advantage of our free demo migration. This allows you to experience the entire process firsthand, transferring a limited number of product listings, customer details, and other data points to Shopify.
You can then verify the accuracy and consistency of the migrated information, assess the functionality of your new Shopify store, and make an informed decision with zero risks involved.
Furthermore, LitExtension offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with our Shopify migration service, you can request a full refund within 30 days of your migration.
This guarantee reflects our confidence in the quality and reliability of our service, allowing you to proceed with your Shopify migration knowing you have nothing to lose.
5. 3-month free updates
At LitExtension, we believe a successful Shopify migration is not a one-time event, but rather the start of a seamless transition.
That’s why we offer 3 months of free updates after your initial migration, ensuring your new Shopify store reflects the most up-to-date information from your previous platform.

3 Simple Steps to Migrate to Shopify with LitExtension
You want to import to Shopify and start enjoying the power of that fantastic platform but are afraid of the complex Shopify data migration process? Worry not, LitExtension makes the Shopify migration seamless and stress-free with only six simple steps:
- Backup database of the Source store
- Set up a new Shopify store
- Set up Source and Target Cart
- Select entities to migrate
- Perform full Shopify migration
- Follow a go-live checklist for Shopify stores after data migration
Now, let’s head straight to 3 critical steps of the Shopify migration with LitExtension automated shopping cart migration solution below!
Step 1. Set up Source and Target Cart
Once you have logged in, click “Create new migration”. Then, you will see a page where you can enter the information of your Source and Target Cart.
First of all, choose your Source Cart from the drop-down menu. Then enter your store URL.
- If your Source Cart is open-sourced like WooCommerce, please follow the instructions to download the “le_connector” file. This connector has only one function, which is to create a bridge between your Source Cart database with the LitExtension App. Extract the zip file and upload the Connector folder to Source Cart root folder on your server. Once you are done, a notification will appear on your screen “Connection was successfully installed“.
- If your Source Cart is a hosted one, like Wix or BigCommerce, please follow the instructions on the screen to get the right information.
Moving on to Target Cart setup, after you have chosen Shopify as your Target Cart from the menu, enter your store URL and the API password to the blank spaces.
In case you don’t know how to get an API password from your Shopify store, you can follow the instructions of this video.
Now you are ready to click “Next” and proceed to the next stage of the migration process.
Step 2. Configure Shopify Migration
This is where you choose the entities that you want to migrate to Shopify. LitExtension supports migrating products, customers, pages, blog posts, and coupons in this case. You can choose to migrate only a few or click “Select all” to migrate all of them.
To help you extend your migration possibilities, LitExtension also offers some additional options such as Clear current data on Target Store before Migration or Create the 301 redirects on your Target Store after migration. The former option allows you to delete all the existing data that you have chosen above on your Target Store (if you have any). The data duplication risk can therefore be avoided. 301 redirect is a procedure of pointing URLs from one site to another. In other words, when your customers click on the links of your old Source Cart website, they will be redirected immediately to the corresponding page on your new Shopify store.
Don’t forget to map your order status and language so that they will be displayed correspondingly on the Shopify site.
Step 3. Perform Shopify Migration
Now you are ready to run the migration. We highly recommend you run the FREE DEMO migration first to see how the migration process will be carried out by LitExtension. After that, you will receive $5 and later you can use it as a discount when running Full Migration.
Once the migration starts, it will run seamlessly on the server. Therefore, there’s no need to keep your PC on while the data is being transferred. It is completely safe to turn it off! Take a break, have a cup of coffee and your email will receive a notification when the process is completed.
You may have a number of extensions that you installed on your Source Cart to support your business and you don’t want to lose these extended functionalities. In order to achieve that, you need to find and install the Shopify apps which have similar purposes as those in your Source Cart store. After that, LitExtension will help you migrate data from the Source Cart extensions/apps/plugins into the corresponding in Shopify.
During the whole migration process, LitExtension still keeps your old Source Cart store running normally. Accordingly, you will still receive new orders and customers as usual while being busy decorating your new home. This is when our recent data migration, smart update and remigration services come in handy.
- Recent data migration allows you to transfer all the newly appearing entities to your new store.
- Smart update updates changes that you have made to data in old store along with all the newly appearing entities.
- Remigration service enables you to migrate your data all over again.
All these three options are FREE under the condition that you have performed full migration with LitExtension within 3 months before and the total additional entities is less than 10% the total number of entities in the first migration.
