About Our Client

Our client is a Spanish online retailer specializing in military and aviation-inspired apparel, accessories and patches. Their online store is central to showcasing themed collections and connecting with aviation and military enthusiasts in Europe.

ePages offered only basic tools for storefront management and audience engagement. This made it difficult to run campaigns, launch limited collections or interact closely with a niche community. In contrast, Shopify provides a richer ecosystem and stronger marketing capabilities, giving them better tools to promote collections and connect with their audience more effectively.

There are not many migration providers with experience in ePages projects. While researching the market, they found LitExtension stood out with proven expertise and several positive customer reviews. This gave them confidence that their ePages data would be migrated safely and handled by a team that truly understands the platform.

Our Client’s Requirements

The client required a full migration of all important store data from ePages to Shopify. This included products, customers, orders and other essential records to ensure the new Shopify store could continue operating without disruption.

The Challenges

The main challenge in this project was how ePages handles product images in its export files. The data only included image file names rather than full URLs, and image access depended on product URIs that were not always available. This required extra care to ensure all product images were transferred accurately to Shopify.

In the ePages store, there were around 1,000 customer accounts sharing duplicated email addresses. Meanwhile, Shopify applies strict rules and does not allow multiple accounts to use the same email. This difference in platform requirements meant the customer data needed to be handled carefully to avoid conflicts during the migration.

Our Solution

To resolve the image-related issue, we first reviewed how product images were referenced in the ePages export files. Since only image names were available, we identified the correct image sources using the provided product information. As a result, all visuals were transferred correctly and displayed properly on Shopify.

For customer data, we followed Shopify’s requirement for unique email addresses. We notified the client about duplicated emails in the ePages store and worked with them to decide which customer accounts should be kept. This allowed the migrated customer data to align with Shopify’s rules and the client’s preferences.

For all other data types, we ran the migration using our All-in-One Migration Service as planned. The process followed a structured flow, starting with a demo migration, followed by testing and bug fixing. Once everything was validated, we proceeded with the full migration and completed a final round of testing and bug fixing to ensure the data was accurate and the new store was fully ready to use.
