Shopware to BigCommerce Migration

In this project, we had the opportunity to collaborate with a US-based company offering PCs, laptops, and other electronic components. Our client was currently on Shopware but it no longer met their needs. Hence, they decided to replatform their online presence to BigCommerce for better scalability.

Having heard of LitExtension’s reputation and expertise in the eCommerce migration industry, our client put their trust in us to transfer their data from Shopware to BigCommerce.

• Maintain their products’ rankings on Google after the migration.
• Preserve Shopware’s Order IDs on their new BigCommerce store.

The biggest challenge that LitExtension faced in this project was the complexity of the data and a tight deadline.

Due to the differences between an open-source platform (Shopware) and a hosted solution (BigCommerce), this migration requires a great deal of effort to ensure compatibility. Our experts had to find a solution to customize all their data while staying on schedule.

Understanding these tough challenges, LitExtension immediately gathered a team of seasoned experts to break down their requirements. Then, we came up with the ultimate solution: an in-depth data customization to ensure the compatibility of these platforms.

We kicked off the project by customizing all of our client’s entities. To make sure there was no issue due to incompatibility between Shopware and BigCommerce infrastructure, our experts created several prototypes for the migration, ran the demo, and meticulously validated all this data. 

Then, we informed our customers of these demo migrations for further input and feedback. This process was repeated until we received the approval for the full migration.
