About Our Client

Our client is a Danish outdoor retailer specializing in bushcraft, wilderness survival and practical gear for life in nature. The website plays a crucial role in reaching both hobbyists and serious outdoor enthusiasts across Denmark.

As the store expanded, Smartweb’s Denmark-focused platform began to feel restrictive. Its localized tools and limited ecosystem couldn’t support the flexibility, customization and broader reach the client wanted. In contrast, Shopify offered a more modern, scalable setup with stronger merchandising options and better support for growing beyond a local market.

When searching for a migration partner, LitExtension quickly stood out thanks to our positive Trustpilot reviews and status as a Shopify Official Partner. This gave the client confidence that their migration would be handled professionally and with the level of expertise they needed.

Our Client’s Requirements

For this project, the client needed a complete transfer of all store data from Smartweb to Shopify, including products, customers, orders and other essential records. To save time and ensure accuracy under a tight schedule, they chose our All-in-One Migration Service. This allowed our team to handle everything – from data mapping to the full migration and QA testing – so the client didn’t have to manage any technical steps themselves.

The Challenges

The biggest challenge in this project was the tight deadline. The store had to be migrated quickly, yet each product contained many different data points that needed to be transferred accurately. Status, weight, tax settings, descriptions, stock levels, producers, prices and quantities all had to be moved without errors.

Our Solution

To keep the project on schedule, our team followed a structured workflow from the very beginning. We reviewed the product data in detail to ensure each attribute – including status, stock levels, tax, weight, producer, price and descriptions – was mapped correctly to Shopify’s format. Once the mapping was approved, we ran the full migration under our All-in-One Migration service so every step could be executed without delays.

Throughout the process, we stayed in close communication with the client. This helped us clarify requirements quickly, make fast adjustments when needed and keep the entire project moving smoothly despite the tight timeline. After the migration finished, we carried out thorough QA checks to confirm all data displayed accurately on the new store.
