Plan Your VisualSoft to Shopify Migration

Start with the product catalog, categories, customer profiles, and historical orders your business needs in Shopify. Identify source examples for checking the results, including products with variants and several images, customers with addresses, and orders with different statuses and totals.

Compare Migration with Manual Imports

A product CSV does not also transfer customer profiles and historical orders. This route uses expert-managed assessment and transfer; your team does not need to configure a self-service migration.

1. Agree on Scope and Source Preparation

Tell our specialists which records you need and describe your target store, launch timing, custom fields, loyalty data, and third-party integrations. Agree on the selected data and acceptance checks before the transfer begins.

Coordinate available exports, database files, or access with our experts. Keep original source files and record when they were produced. The required method depends on your actual source setup; do not assume every VisualSoft project uses the same export or direct-access workflow.

Custom filtering, duplicate-customer handling, loyalty data, and app-managed reviews need separate assessment. A previous custom project does not mean those records are part of this route’s standard data table.

2. Prepare Shopify and Existing Data

Prepare Shopify and coordinate the access requested by our specialists. Keep the target available through the Demo, Full Migration, and validation. Record any existing products, customers, and orders that must remain.

Save a target backup before enabling Clear Target Data and approve the selected entities to clean. Keep source exports and important assets. Discuss sample and test records before the Demo so the target-data plan is clear.

Prepare the theme, replacement apps, payments, shipping, taxes, notifications, and checkout separately. Data migration does not convert the VisualSoft design, integrations, or custom code into Shopify functionality.

3. Map Products, Variants, and Categories

Products include names, SKUs, short/full descriptions, status, regular/special prices, quantities, stock-management settings, meta titles/descriptions, tags, variants, and images. Variants and Images are groups; they do not promise every detailed variation field, custom option behavior, or a specific thumbnail/gallery assignment.

Separate VisualSoft Attributes are not included as Shopify metafields. Vendor, weight, dimensions, and original product URL keys are also outside the listed scope. Describe any required custom product behavior before agreeing on launch readiness.

Categories include names, descriptions, images, and meta titles/descriptions. Original category URL keys and sort order are not included. Review collection organization and navigation separately in Shopify.

4. Map Customers and Historical Orders

Customers include first names, last names, emails, and Address as a group. Passwords and email-marketing status are not included. Order customer details and billing/shipping addresses are separate supported order fields.

Shopify customer accounts use email verification codes by default. If you use legacy accounts, prepare invitations or password setup rather than expecting VisualSoft passwords to work. Test the selected account-access flow before launch.

Orders include IDs, dates, statuses, items, subtotal, discount, tax, shipping price, total price, customer names/emails, and billing/shipping addresses. Order Items and addresses remain parent groups without target-only detail expansion. Order notes, tags, and tracking number/URL fields are not included.

5. Configure Additional Options

All applicable Additional Options are included for free with AIO. Our experts configure redirects, original order references, HTML cleanup for product/category names, approved target-data cleanup, description images, and Shopify Smart Collections.

Description Images covers embedded images in product and category descriptions. Check these separately from product/catalog images. It does not add blog or CMS-page migration. Smart Collections uses product tags to organize category relationships; review conditions and product membership, then prepare menus separately.

Keep the target cleanup scope explicit and save a backup. Test important redirect mappings; a redirect is a separate operation from transferring an original URL key.

6. Inspect the Free Demo

Our experts transfer sample records and coordinate your review. Compare names, SKUs, descriptions, prices, stock settings, variants, images, metadata, categories, customer addresses, and historical orders against the source.

Open Shopify products, test selections and cart behavior, review collection membership, and inspect customer/order relationships. Matching counts alone do not establish correctness. Provide specific source and target examples for unexpected values, formatting, or images.

Resolve discrepancies with our team and confirm the agreed mapping before approving Full Migration. The Demo also shows which remaining tasks belong to storefront or operational setup.

7. Complete Migration and Plan Final Updates

Our experts perform and monitor Full Migration, compare the agreed data, and investigate migration discrepancies. Your VisualSoft store can continue accepting orders during the transfer. Your Personal Assistant communicates progress and coordinates the completed-record review.

Track new orders and catalog/customer changes after any source snapshot was prepared. Agree on the final update with our specialists before handover. Eligible Recent Data Migration, Smart Update, and Re-migration services address agreed records under the project terms; they do not create continuous synchronization.

8. Prepare SEO, Content, and Checkout

Review migrated product/category metadata, update internal links, and test important old URLs against Shopify destinations. Shopify redirects require the source path to be unavailable; check the final behavior. Original product/category URL keys are not included, and unchanged rankings are not guaranteed.

Coupons, Reviews, CMS Pages, Blogs, Manufacturers, Taxes, and Multiple Languages are outside this data scope. Keep copies of required site content and plan its preparation separately rather than treating catalog migration as a complete website rebuild.

Test customer access, product selection, collections, payments, shipping, taxes, transactional emails, and checkout on desktop and mobile. Complete storefront and integration checks before directing customers to Shopify.
