Shopify to Wix Migration

Our client has been in the tool industry for over 25 years, offering a wide range of installation tools, including precision door lifters and other specialized equipments. Their products cater to both professionals and DIY enthusiasts looking for reliable, high-quality tools.

They decided to migrate from Shopify to Wix because Wix offered a more affordable solution with greater design flexibility. This way, they can easily customize their website more freely and aesthetically.

The client wanted a complete migration, ensuring that all their existing store data was transferred to Wix without missing any details. Their goal was to replicate everything they had on Shopify, including products, customers, and other data.

Additionally, they were using a third-party app for their loyalty program on Shopify, though it wasn’t very extensive. Since Wix offers a built-in loyalty program, they wanted to explore the possibility of integrating their customer data into Wix’s system. In total, they needed 220 customer records migrated while maintaining a smooth transition for their store operations.

One challenge in this project was migrating the client’s loyalty program data. Since their Shopify store used a third-party app, and Wix has a built-in loyalty program, there was no direct way to transfer customer points.

To overcome the challenge with the loyalty program, we customized the migration process to export data from the Shopify app and import it into Wix. This ensured that customer records remained intact and could be smoothly transitioned into Wix’s built-in loyalty system.

For the rest of the data, we ran our All-in-One Migration Service, accurately transferring products, customers, and orders. We also set up 301 redirects and preserved URLs to ensure a smooth browsing experience. With this approach, the client’s transition was seamless, with all key store elements successfully moved to their new platform.
