Choose Your ZenCart to Magento Migration Method

List the records your business needs in Magento before comparing methods. A product import covers a different task from transferring customer profiles, historical orders, coupons, reviews, page content, and translated catalog data. Identify the examples your team will use to check the result.

Automated Migration is the primary workflow for this route. Describe custom ZenCart contributions, specialized option pricing, and extension-generated records before starting. Data migration does not convert the source design or custom code into Magento functionality.

Prepare Source Records and Magento

Back up the ZenCart database, files, and assets you need. Prepare Magento and record counts for the selected entities. Keep representative source examples for Demo review and completed-data validation.

Include products with options and different prices, orders with several items, coupons with usage limits, reviews, CMS pages, and translated catalog records. Review existing Magento data and identify records that must remain.

Prepare the Magento theme, replacement extensions, payments, shipping, taxes, and notifications separately. Transferring tax records does not complete checkout tax configuration. Customer account access and password reset also need target testing.

Connect ZenCart and Magento

Sign in to the LitExtension app and create a migration. Select ZenCart as the source and Magento as the target, then provide the required store details.

Follow the connection instructions displayed for each platform. Complete the checks before selecting data and keep access available through the transfer and result review. If a check fails, review the store details and setup or contact support with the error information.

Select Products, Options, and Categories

Product fields include names, SKUs, short and full descriptions, status, manufacturer, tax class, prices, special prices, quantities, meta titles and descriptions, weight, variants, thumbnails, and additional images. The ZenCart Products Model maps to the product SKU.

ZenCart options are included through the Variants group. The group does not promise every source option flag or custom pricing rule. Select representative combinations for the Demo and compare their Magento presentation, price, selection, and cart behavior.

Separate product Attributes, stock-management settings, cost, dimensions, tags, creation dates, meta keywords, downloadable-product rules, grouped-product associations, and up-sells/cross-sells are not included in this route. Discuss required custom product behavior before committing to the full transfer.

Categories include names, descriptions, sort order, images, meta titles, and meta descriptions. Source category-parent and meta-keyword fields are not included. Review catalog organization and navigation separately.

Select Customers and Historical Orders

Customers include first names, last names, emails, and billing addresses. Passwords, usernames, newsletter preferences, and separate customer shipping addresses are not included. Configure and test Magento login and password-reset workflows before inviting customers to the new store.

Orders include IDs, dates, statuses, items, subtotal, discounts, tax, shipping price, total price, customer comments, customer names/emails, and billing/shipping addresses. Select Preserve Order IDs to retain original ZenCart order references.

Order Items and addresses remain groups without target-only subfield expansion. Separate transaction, invoice, credit-memo, and order-number records are not included. Inspect representative order statuses, totals, comments, and customer relationships in the Demo.

Select Manufacturers, Taxes, Coupons, and Reviews

Manufacturers include names and images. Taxes include tax-class names and tax-rate country/rate values. Manufacturer slugs/descriptions and tax descriptions are not included. Separately test how Magento applies the required taxes at checkout.

Coupons include titles, descriptions, codes, coupon dates, customer groups, usage limits, discount amounts, and start/end dates. Percentage discounts and coupon status are not included. Review the migrated values and test the promotions your store needs.

Reviews include creation dates, status, ratings, reviewer names, and comments. Reviewer emails, review titles, and separate product identifiers are not included. Compare representative reviews and their storefront display during testing.

Select CMS Pages and Multilingual Catalog Data

CMS pages include titles, creation dates, URLs, and content from Page HTML Text. Review representative ZenCart information or EZ-Pages records to check their target presentation. Page descriptions, categories, status, and thumbnails are not included. Blogs are outside this migration.

Multilingual migration includes product names, descriptions, and attributes, category names and descriptions, and the manufacturer group. Translated short descriptions, category metadata, CMS pages, and blogs are not included. Configure the required Magento store views and check language assignments during the Demo.

Translated attribute content is a separate multilingual field group; it does not add an independent product Attributes transfer. The migration does not create translations that are missing from your source data.

Configure Additional Options

Create 301 Redirects connects old ZenCart URLs to their corresponding Magento destinations. Preserve Order IDs retains the source order references. Strip HTML Tags removes markup from product and category names.

Description Images transfers embedded images in product and category descriptions. Check these separately from thumbnail, additional, category, and manufacturer image fields. It does not include blog migration or add CMS-page embedded-image coverage.

Clear Target Data removes existing Magento records for the migration entities you select. Save a target backup, review the cleanup scope, and identify records that must remain before enabling it.

Prepare SEO, Customer Access, and Checkout

Review product/category metadata, migrated page URLs, and important redirects. Test legacy product, category, and page links against their new destinations. Update internal links and inspect navigation; identical URLs and unchanged search rankings are not guaranteed.

Test customer access and password reset, product selection, coupons, payments, shipping, taxes, notifications, and checkout on desktop and mobile. Complete these checks before switching the domain or directing customers to Magento.

Handle New Data, Cost, and Timing
