Method 3. Perform a manual Wix migration with CSV files

A manual Wix migration gives you direct control over data preparation and import. It may suit small stores with simple catalogs and limited budgets, but it requires more time and careful review. Incorrect field mapping, missing variants, duplicate records, unsupported data, and broken image URLs are common risks when files are prepared manually.

Wix currently accepts product CSV files of up to 15 MB or 10,000 rows per import. Its CSV template supports product and variant data, but some store elements and settings must be handled separately. Category import availability also depends on whether your Wix store uses the newer category management interface. Review the current requirements in your Wix dashboard before preparing the files.

Step 1. Export and back up your source store data

Export the available store data from your current platform, including products, customers, orders, and other records you may need. Keep an untouched backup of the original files before editing anything. This gives you a reliable reference if data is changed, omitted, or formatted incorrectly during the Wix migration.

Step 2. Reformat product data using the Wix CSV template

Data from your former platform may include fields that do not exist in the Wix template. Step 3. Rebuild your store design in Wix

A Wix migration moves data, not the original platform’s theme code. Page layouts, menus, banners, homepage sections, apps, and platform-specific functionality generally need to be recreated in the Wix Editor or Wix Studio.
