Additional Options
Use Additional Migration Options to handle selected cleanup, redirect, identifier, and description-image tasks during your Shift4Shop migration. Availability can depend on the source platform and migration method.
Create supported redirects from old source-store URLs to their corresponding Shift4Shop destinations. Review important mappings and test them before changing your domain.
Keep supported source order IDs in the Shift4Shop Order ID field when the source data and selected migration flow allow it.
Remove HTML tags from category and product names during migration so the target names do not contain unwanted formatting markup.
Delete existing Shift4Shop records for the selected migration entities after you approve the cleanup. Back up any target data that must remain.
Transfer images embedded in supported product and category descriptions to Shift4Shop. Ordinary product and category image fields are handled separately through their confirmed fields.
Let Shift4Shop Migration Experts Handle the Work
If you prefer a managed project, our experts can assess the source store, map the supported fields, run a Free Demo, perform Full Migration, and validate the agreed result with you.
How to Perform Shift4Shop Migration
Choose Automated Migration when you want to configure and run the transfer yourself, or use the All-in-One Migration Service when you want LitExtension experts to manage the project. Both workflows begin by confirming the source connection, target store, selected entities, and applicable options.
Select your current platform as the Source Cart and Shift4Shop as the Target Cart. Enter the required store details and follow the connection instructions shown for each platform.
Select the supported products, categories, customers, and orders you want to transfer. Configure applicable options and run a Free Demo to inspect representative target records.
Review the Demo result, confirm the configuration, and start Full Migration. The transfer runs on LitExtension servers, so you do not need to keep the browser open.
A Personal Assistant reviews your source platform, target readiness, entity volumes, custom data, integrations, and launch requirements before the All-in-One project is scoped.
Migration specialists prepare the field mapping and applicable options, then run a Free Demo. You review the Shift4Shop result and approve any required adjustments before Full Migration.
Our team transfers the agreed data, checks record counts and representative field values, coordinates eligible recent-data work, and guides you through handover and launch checks.
Migrate to Shift4Shop with a Clear, Verified Scope
A successful Shift4Shop migration starts with the data your current platform can export and the fields Shift4Shop can receive. LitExtension reviews that overlap before Full Migration. Products, product categories, customers, and orders are supported destination groups, but the exact fields available for a project still depend on the source platform.
Prepare the Shift4Shop Store Before Migration
- Create and configure the target store. Set up the Shift4Shop account, store URL, currency, units, tax settings, and the basic catalog structure needed for the Demo.
- Keep independent backups. Retain available source exports and protect any existing Shift4Shop records before approving a target-data cleanup.
- Inventory the source data. Record product, category, customer, and order counts. Identify custom fields, unusual variant structures, third-party app records, and historical data that may require separate mapping.
- Review customer and order requirements. Confirm how customer status, billing details, order items, totals, comments, and order IDs should appear in Shift4Shop.
- Plan the storefront separately. Themes, page layouts, apps, scripts, payment methods, shipping services, and custom functionality do not become compatible merely because the store data moves.
- List important URLs. Prepare the source product and category URLs and their intended Shift4Shop destinations if the project includes supported redirects.
- Assign reviewers. Choose who will approve the Demo, validate the Full Migration, test checkout, switch the domain, and monitor the store after launch.
Shift4Shop Migration Data Mapping
| Data group | Supported Shift4Shop destination | Important checks |
|---|---|---|
| Products | Core product details, manufacturer, tax class, prices, inventory, metadata, dimensions, tags, related-product relationships, attributes, variants, and images | SKUs, status, price and special price, quantity, stock settings, variant combinations, image placement, and source-field availability |
| Product Categories | Name, description, sort order, image, meta title, and meta description | Category names, hierarchy requirements, product assignments, descriptions, ordering, and images |
| Customers | Name, email, billing address, and status | Duplicate emails, address completeness, customer status, and the account-access process used after launch |
| Orders | Order ID, date, status, line items, prices, totals, comments, customer details, billing address, and shipping address | Order-item links, SKU matching, totals, status mapping, customer relationships, and identifier handling |
LitExtension does not infer unsupported entities from a similar label. Manufacturers, coupons, reviews, CMS pages, and blogs remain outside the standard Shift4Shop import list on this page unless a project-specific review confirms another method.
Automated Migration to Shift4Shop
Automated Migration is designed for merchants who want to configure the transfer in the LitExtension app. After connecting the stores, you select the supported entities and options, run a Free Demo, review the sample, and start Full Migration.
The process runs on LitExtension servers while the source store remains available. You are responsible for reviewing the configuration, checking the result, preparing the Shift4Shop storefront, and completing launch tasks that sit outside the data transfer.
All-in-One Shift4Shop Migration Service
The All-in-One service adds expert project management to the technical migration. A Personal Assistant collects the requirements, coordinates access and approvals, and keeps the project moving. Migration specialists prepare the mapping, configure applicable options, run the Demo, perform Full Migration, and validate the agreed data.
Custom fields, app-owned data, nonstandard relationships, content rebuilding, and external integrations require explicit review. They are not included simply because the standard destination supports products, customers, or orders.
Free Demo and Full Migration Validation
The Free Demo gives you a limited target result to inspect before purchasing Full Migration. Review representative simple and variant products, categories, customers, and orders. Check names, SKUs, descriptions, prices, inventory, images, customer details, order dates, line items, totals, and address data that are included in the agreed scope.
After Full Migration, compare entity counts and inspect a representative range of records. Test product presentation, search, customer workflows, cart, checkout, payments, shipping, tax, email notifications, and any separately configured integrations before directing customers to the new store.
SEO and URL Planning
Product and category meta titles and meta descriptions can be imported when the source platform provides compatible values. URL structures differ between platforms, so plan redirects separately. The 301 Redirect option maps supported old URLs to agreed Shift4Shop destinations; it does not guarantee unchanged rankings or identical URL structures.
Before launch, test priority URLs, update internal links, submit the correct sitemap, and monitor crawling and indexing. Keep the redirect list available for post-launch checks.
Migration Cost and Timeline
Cost depends on the number of products, customers, orders, and other supported records, together with selected options, source-store access, custom mapping, and the service level you choose. Use the Pricing Estimator for an initial calculation, or schedule a call for a project-specific scope.
The timeline also depends on data volume, source performance, API limits, target readiness, Demo feedback, custom work, and launch coordination. The project plan should separate migration time from theme setup, app configuration, content rebuilding, and business testing.
Post-Migration Checklist
- Compare source and target counts for every approved entity.
- Inspect product fields, prices, inventory, variants, attributes, and images.
- Review category information and product assignments.
- Test customer records and the selected account-access workflow.
- Verify order dates, statuses, items, totals, comments, customer links, and addresses.
- Configure the Shift4Shop theme, navigation, payments, shipping, taxes, emails, and integrations.
- Test storefront search, cart, checkout, and transactional emails on desktop and mobile.
- Validate supported redirects and monitor search performance after launch.
- Coordinate eligible Recent Data Migration, Smart Update, or Re-migration work before the final cutover.

Yes. Shift4Shop supports variants with name, SKU, weight, quantity, stock settings, image, price, and special price. It also supports product thumbnail and additional images.
The exact result depends on the source variant structure and available image data. Review representative complex products in the Free Demo.
Customer names, emails, billing addresses, and status can migrate when the source platform supplies compatible values. Stored passwords usually cannot be transferred because platforms protect them with different authentication systems.
Plan the customer activation, invitation, or password-reset process before launch and test it with representative accounts.
Yes. When the source order data and selected migration flow support the option, Shift4Shop can receive supported identifiers in its Order ID field.
Test representative historical orders in the Demo and confirm the final identifier behavior before Full Migration.
Yes. The migration runs separately from the customer-facing source store, so the existing store can continue operating during the transfer. Keep track of products, customers, orders, and inventory changes created after the initial migration.
Before launch, use the eligible post-migration service agreed for the project to account for recent supported data.
No. Standard migration transfers supported store data; it does not convert a source theme, page builder, apps, extensions, scripts, or custom code into Shift4Shop features.
Choose the Shift4Shop theme and replacement apps separately. Ask for a project-specific review if custom data or integrations must be included.
LitExtension can transfer supported product and category metadata when the source provides compatible values. The applicable redirect option can map supported source URLs to agreed Shift4Shop destinations.
No provider can guarantee unchanged rankings. Test redirects, update internal links, submit the sitemap, and monitor crawling and indexing after launch.
The schedule depends on record volume, source performance, connection limits, target readiness, selected options, custom mapping, Demo feedback, and the migration service you choose.
Theme setup, app configuration, content rebuilding, testing, and launch coordination should have their own time allowance outside the data-transfer estimate.
Pricing depends on the number of supported records, selected options, custom requirements, and whether you choose Automated Migration or the All-in-One service.
Use the Pricing Estimator for an initial calculation. For custom data or a managed project, schedule a call for a detailed scope.

Testimonials: Our Success Stories
I’ve used LitExtension now for probably five or six years to migrate across several different eCommerce platforms, from X-Cart, Magento, Zen Cart, and, more recently, OpenCart. Any problems I’ve had, LitExtension has always been really quick to respond and helpful, and I have no hesitation in recommending LitExtension as your migration software of choice. – Mr. Iain Clark
Who We Truly Are? Let Our Customer Define!
I am in the process of moving my existing website over to Shopify. As this is my 4th iteration of my website, I knew I didn’t want to do the migration part myself again! Using this service meant that I could concentrate on running my business for a couple of days while the migration was being done for me.
Lotus was phenomenal! She is detailed-oriented and works extremely fast! She helped with the migration from Wix to Shopify in no time. Thank you so much Lotus and everyone at LitExtension!
We migrate with Litextension our shop from shopware to shopify. The team was great to work with. During the process we identified a few issues. But everything was fully resolved in two days. We are satisfied with the work from Litextension.
It was great service from those guys! Verry complex case with very old Woocommerce to new Woocommerce store!
I built our new Shopify site myself but with no developer experience. I really struggled migrating products, customers and order history. It was a bit overwhelming until I found Lit. They helped me set it up and did the contract. Emailed me at every stage and listened to my feedback. I found them on Thursday and by Monday the work was completed.

The team at LitExtension was great to work with, and also showed great patience with my migration needs. We had a large website, with many products and variants and they were able to do everything we needed, even some custom requests. Great people and great company.
Took most of the work off our hands. The team were great and went out of their way to get the migration from J2store to Shopify completed. The time zone differences were slightly difficult but that didn’t stop the work from being completed.
