What is FTP?

FTP, or File Transfer Protocol, is a standard method used to transfer files between your computer and a web server over the internet. In the context of eCommerce migration, FTP is often used to access and manage the files stored on your store’s server that live outside your store’s main database.

For certain migration tasks, such as transferring images from a database dump, LitExtension may ask for FTP access to your Source Cart’s server. This allows our team to locate and retrieve the files needed to complete your migration accurately.
