I meet issues during Demo migration. How to fix?

Demo migration issues usually fall into a few common categories; here’s how to troubleshoot each:

1. No “Connector Installed” message

If you don’t see this confirmation when accessing your connector URL, check for these common causes:

  • The le_connector folder wasn’t uploaded to your store’s root directory. Use an FTP client like FileZilla to verify its location.
  • The folder or Connector file doesn’t have the correct permissions. Set the numeric value to 755 via your FTP client.
  • Your server runs on Nginx, which often blocks PHP files by default and needs a configuration update to allow the Connector to run.
  • Your server or hosting cache (often OpCache) is delaying recognition of the newly uploaded Connector files. Try temporarily disabling the cache with your hosting provider’s help.

2. “Cannot reach connector” message

If the Connector installed successfully but shows this error, it’s usually because:

  • Your Source or Target Store is blocking LitExtension’s servers. Contact your hosting provider to whitelist our server IPs or temporarily disable the firewall.
  • Your server is configured to block migration bots. Ask your hosting provider to adjust these bot or spam protection settings to allow LitExtension.

3. Migration process stops unexpectedly

This is often caused by a tool-side issue or your server restricting POST/GET data length, which can block requests sent to or from the Connector. Contact our Support Agents for detailed checking. If this keeps happening, our All-In-One Migration Service assigns a Personal Assistant to manage the entire process for you.

4. Results don’t look as expected

  • Check whether your Target Cart requires post-migration actions, such as regenerating thumbnails or reindexing. These steps are usually listed on your migration detail page.
  • Your server or hosting may be restricting Connector operations, like downloading images. Reach out to our Support Agents for a tailored assessment.
  • If your store has custom database changes, third-party plugins, or is migrating to a different platform, some data differences are expected, since custom or plugin-added data isn’t part of the default migration, and data may transform slightly to fit your Target Cart’s structure.

If none of these resolve your issue, our Support Agents can review your specific case and guide you through the fix.
