Products and categories are displayed differently on Target Store front-end. Why?

This is a common and expected outcome when migrating between different eCommerce platforms. LitExtension transfers the underlying data accurately from your Source Cart to your Target Cart. However, how that data is displayed on the storefront depends on your Target Cart’s own theme, layout, and design settings, which are separate from the migration process.

A few common reasons for this difference:

  • Different default themes. Your Source and Target platforms likely use different themes or templates by default, which affects layout, image sizing, category navigation, and overall styling.
  • Platform-specific display logic. Some platforms organize or render product and category pages differently by design, for example, how subcategories are nested or how product variants appear on the page.
  • Unconfigured theme settings on the Target Store. If your Target Store’s theme hasn’t been fully set up or customized yet, it may display data using default styling rather than matching your original store’s look.

To get your Target Store’s frontend looking the way you want, you’ll typically need to customize its theme and settings after the migration; this is separate from the data transfer itself.
