What is Basic Authentication?

Basic Authentication is a simple method for securing access to resources over HTTP. It requires users to provide a username and password, which are then encoded and sent in the HTTP headers with each request. The server checks these credentials against its database to determine if the user is authorized to access the requested resource.

For instance, from your desktop computer, try to access your restricted content in a web browser by visiting your URL or static IP address. You will be prompted with a username and password to access the website.

When migrating with LitExtension, our migration tool also uses this information to securely connect the connector with your website. More specifically, we will ask you to fill in the following fields. You can rest assured that all credits are safe with us.
