About Our Client

Our client is a German retailer with a passion for high-quality household and lifestyle products. Their store is known for carefully curated collections that combine functionality and style. Over the years, they’ve built a solid customer base and a trusted reputation in their market.

For a long time, their online shop ran on xt:Commerce. It worked well in the beginning, but as their business grew, the platform started to feel outdated. Updating products or improving the shopping experience took more effort than it should, and it became clear they needed something more modern and flexible. That’s when they decided to move to Shopware 6, a platform with a cleaner design, better integrations, and the flexibility to support their future growth.

However, migrating a store with years of data isn’t simple. They needed more than just a technical transfer, they wanted a partner they could trust to handle everything accurately and with care. After considering their options, they chose LitExtension to make the move smooth and stress-free.

Our Client’s Requirements

The client needed a complete migration of their store data from xt:Commerce to Shopware. This included products with all details, categories, customers, orders, and other essential information. Everything had to be moved securely and accurately, with no missing or mismatched data.

They also wanted 301 redirects set up on the new Shopware store. This was important to ensure customers could still reach the correct pages without broken links and partly maintain their existing SEO rankings.

The Challenges

The biggest challenge in this project was the tight deadline. The entire migration, from preparation to post-migration checks, had to be completed within just one week. This left no room for delays, making it crucial for our team to plan carefully and execute every step efficiently.

Our Solution

To meet the tight one-week deadline, we utilized our All-in-One Migration Service, which assigned a Personal Assisstant (PA) to support every step of the process. They are responsible for running the migration and updating the client with every detail. From the demo migration to the full migration, they stayed in close contact and made quick adjustments when needed. Also, we combined both automated and manual testing. This helped detect any issues early and allowed us to fix them right away, ensuring a smooth and accurate migration without delays.

For the 301 redirects, we run our Additional Option called “Create 301 Redirects on Target Store”, included for FREE with the All-in-One Migration Service package. This ensured all old URLs pointed correctly to the new Shopware store without affecting SEO.
