About Our Client

Our client, an U.S-based company specializing in hair building fibers, had been selling online through AbanteCart for a couple of years. While it worked in the early days, they started running into limitations as the business grew.

Managing product variations like shades and sizes was clunky, and setting up promotions for bundles or seasonal sales wasn’t flexible enough. For this reason, they have decided to migrate to WooCommerce – an eCommerce solution that can support all the advanced eCommerce features and offer access to WordPress’s vast theme and plugin ecosystem.

When searching for a migration partner, the client needed someone who could not only ensure accuracy but also meet their tight launch deadline. LitExtension, a trusted WooCommerce migration expert, was the clear choice. With our All-in-One Migration Service, we handled the entire process efficiently, giving the client confidence that their store would be migrated smoothly and on time.

Our Client’s Requirements

For this project, the client outlined several key requirements to ensure a seamless migration:

  • Transfer all core data, including products, customers, and orders.
  • Migrate customer passwords so existing users could log in without resetting credentials.
  • Run Additional Options, such as:
    • Preserving Product, Order, and Customer IDs on the WooCommerce store.
    • Creating 301 redirects for the old AbanteCart URLs to the new site.

The Challenges

The biggest challenge of this project was the client’s strict deadline. They needed the migration completed quickly without compromising data accuracy or store functionality, so the new website could go live as soon as possible.

Our Solution

To ensure the project stayed on schedule, we first performed a demo migration. This allowed the client to review the results and request any adjustments. Our team promptly adjusted the reported issues before running the full migration, which meant no further fixes were needed afterward.

For customer passwords, we securely installed the LitExtension Customer Password Migration plugin on WooCommerce store. Under our experts’ supervision, the plugin automatically converted and transferred the password data, so customers could access their accounts without interruption.
