About Our Client

Our client is a Brazil-based company that has been selling detox and health diet products online for nearly a decade. As their business grew and customer expectations evolved, they began looking for more advanced eCommerce features (flexible promotions, stronger integrations, and global scalability, etc.) that their current platform, Tray, couldn’t fully support.

To adapt to these changes, they decided it was time to migrate to a more powerful platform. Shopify became the ideal choice, offering the scalability, built-in selling tools, and international infrastructure needed to expand beyond the local market.

In this case, LitExtension emerged as the perfect migration partner thanks to its proven track record and excellent customer reviews on the Shopify App Market, giving the client confidence that their years of valuable data would be transferred smoothly and securely.

Our Client’s Requirements

For this project, the client had two main requirements to ensure a smooth transition:

  • Migrate all essential data, including products, customers, and orders.
  • Set up 301 redirects to seamlessly guide visitors from the old Tray URLs to the new Shopify store.

The Challenges

The main challenge in this project came from Tray’s export limitation. The platform only allows exporting orders within a 90-day range at a time. Since the client had nearly a decade of sales history, this meant the team had to export data multiple times to capture all orders. It was a time-consuming process that required careful handling to keep everything accurate and on schedule.

Our Solution

Due to Tray’s export restrictions, our LitExtension team couldn’t extract all order data at once. Instead, we carefully exported it in multiple batches to ensure the entire sales history was captured without any loss.

To guarantee accuracy, we ran a demo migration in two days so the client could review the results in detail. This step helped us confirm that all data mapped correctly and the new Shopify store structure aligned with their expectations.

After the demo was approved, our team proceeded with the full migration, implemented the client’s specific requests, and performed a final QA check to ensure the store was fully functional and ready for launch without disruption.
