About Our Client

Our client is a U.S.-based retailer offering faith-based apparel, books, and gifts through both online and in-store channels. As their physical retail operations expanded, Shopify POS could no longer meet their needs—especially with multi-location inventory and event-based sales.

They decided to switch to Square POS and turned to LitExtension to manage the migration. They chose LitExtension for our deep platform knowledge and proven ability to handle complex, business-critical migrations with care.

Our Client’s Requirements

The client needed to migrate all essential data from Shopify to Square—this included products, customers, orders, and POS records. Accuracy and data safety were top priorities, as any disruption could directly impact their daily in-store operations.

The Challenges

A major challenge in this project was the difference in how Shopify POS and Square POS handle in-store data. Shopify POS organizes products, customers, and transactions differently than Square, especially when it comes to variant tracking and sales history.
