About Our Client
Our client is a UK-based company that helps people create personalized stamps and engravings. They wanted an online store that was easy to use and manage so they could focus on creating great products for their customers.
Their previous platform, Magento, was becoming expensive and less user-friendly for the team to maintain. They chose Shopware because it offered a simple and intuitive interface at a more affordable price, allowing them to manage their online store efficiently without breaking the bank.
Our Client’s Requirements
Besides the basic data migration (orders, customers, products, etc.), our client had the following custom requirements for the project:
- New SEO plugin: They wanted to replace the SEO plugin they were using on their Magento site with a new plugin that worked seamlessly with Shopware.
- Moving custom attributes: Our client had added extra information fields to their Magento store to track important details about their products. This meant we also had to move these fields to their new Shopware store.
The Challenges
The hardest part was understanding how our client’s special SEO tools and product information worked on Magento. We needed to make sure these data fields worked correctly on Shopware, too. This took extra time because there were many details to check and make sure they were right. To add to the complexity, the client was working with a tight deadline. This added pressure to the LitExtension team to deliver a flawless migration within a limited timeframe.
Our Solution
To fulfill our client’s requests, we used our All-in-One Migration service combined with some special custom work. Firstly, our client wanted to take advantage of a new SEO plugin offered on the Shopware platform. However, this new plugin used different data fields than their old Magento SEO plugin. To ensure their valuable SEO information wasn’t lost during the platform switch, our team carefully mapped and migrated the relevant data to the corresponding fields within the new SEO plugin on Shopware.
For the custom attributes migration, we worked with the client to create a detailed mapping guide based on their database. This guide allowed us to accurately match each custom field from their Magento store to the corresponding field within Shopware. This process guaranteed that all valuable product data was migrated correctly, maintaining consistency and accuracy across their new online store.
