About Our Client

Our client is a trusted coating solution provider offering a wide range of coating types to suit diverse business needs. Their products include industrial coatings, concrete sealers, decorative coatings, and more.

The client was using an outdated version of X-Cart, which lacked modern eCommerce features. To enhance their online store and maintain cost-effectiveness, they decided to migrate to Ecwid.

Our Client’s Requirements

The client requested a smooth X-Cart to Ecwid migration of their basic data, including products, customers, and orders, without any issues or disruptions. They also opted for the following Additional Options, designed to further enhance the migration process:

  • Clear data on target store before migration;
  • Preserve product, order, customer IDs on target store;
  • Create 301 redirects on target store.

The Challenges

After completing the full migration using our All-in-One Migration Service, a challenge arose with the product page visuals. The size of items on the product pages in the new Ecwid store did not match the client’s existing store. The items appeared much larger than intended, disrupting the visual consistency and professional look of the product pages.

Our Solution

To address this issue, we first reviewed all the migrated images to ensure their sizes matched those on X-Cart. This confirmed that the problem was not related to the migration process itself but stemmed from the theme settings in the new Ecwid store.

We explained the situation to the client, helping them understand the root cause and guiding them on how to adjust their theme settings. This ensured the product pages maintained a consistent, professional appearance. By combining this targeted fix with the comprehensive data migration achieved through our All-in-One Migration Service, we ensured the client’s new Ecwid store was fully functional and visually cohesive.
