Etsy to Shopify Migration

Our client specializes in creating high-quality historical map prints, perfect for both research and display. Their prints are made with archival museum-grade papers, ensuring exceptional quality and longevity.

The client decided to migrate from Etsy to Shopify to expand their business. Shopify offered them the opportunity to create an independent website with advanced eCommerce features. This gave them greater control over their brand and helped them connect more effectively with their customers.

The client had specific requirements to ensure a seamless migration from Etsy to Shopify. They wanted all products assigned to categories in Etsy to match the same categories already set up on Shopify. Additionally, they requested that product variations and their corresponding prices be transferred accurately.

One minor challenge during the migration was with the product variants. The quotation mark (“) used to represent product sizes in inches appeared as &quot instead. While this was a small issue, it needed to be fixed to ensure the product information displayed correctly on the new Shopify store.

To address the issue with product sizes, we converted the sizes in Etsy to the correct format before migrating them to Shopify. This ensured that all product variants displayed accurately on the new store.
