Choose Your Gambio to Shopify Migration Method

Start with the records your business needs in Shopify: products and categories, customer profiles, historical orders, coupons, and CMS pages. Identify representative examples for checking the migration, including selectable products, orders with different totals, coupons with usage limits, and information pages.

Automated Migration is the primary workflow for this route. Describe custom Gambio modules, specialized product selections, and integration-generated records before starting. A product CSV alone does not transfer customer accounts, historical orders, coupons, and pages together.

Prepare Gambio and Your Shopify Store

Back up the Gambio database, files, and important assets. Record counts for the selected entities and retain source examples for Demo review and completed-data validation. Prepare Shopify and identify any existing records that must remain.

Include products with different variants, quantities, sale prices, and images. Select orders with several items and different statuses, customer addresses, coupons with per-customer limits, and CMS pages with text and thumbnails. These examples help reveal mapping issues that matching record counts alone cannot show.

Prepare the Shopify theme, replacement apps, payments, shipping, taxes, notifications, and checkout separately. Data migration does not convert the Gambio design, modules, or custom code into Shopify features.

Connect Gambio and Shopify

Sign in to the LitExtension app and create a migration. Select Gambio as the source and Shopify as the target, then enter the required store details.

Follow the displayed connection instructions for each platform. For Gambio, complete the source connector setup shown in the app. Keep the required access available through the transfer and validation. If a connection check fails, review the store details and setup or share the error information with support.

Select Products, Variants, and Categories

Products include names, SKUs, short and full descriptions, status, regular and special prices, quantities, stock-management settings, meta titles and descriptions, product tags, variants, and images. Variants and Images are generic groups: they do not promise every detailed variation field or a particular thumbnail/gallery assignment.

Test representative combinations, selections, displayed prices, inventory, image placement, and cart behavior in the Demo. Separate Gambio Attributes are not listed as Shopify metafields. The variant group does not establish automatic conversion of custom options or module-specific behavior.

Categories include names, descriptions, images, meta titles, and meta descriptions. Category sort order and original product/category URL keys are not included. Review target collection organization and navigation separately.

Select Customers and Historical Orders

Customers include first names, last names, emails, and Address as a group. Passwords and email-marketing status are not included. Prepare the customer account experience separately and check address presentation during the Demo.

Shopify customer accounts use email verification codes by default. If you use legacy customer accounts, plan invitations or password setup rather than expecting Gambio passwords to work. Test the selected account flow before inviting customers to the new store.

Orders include IDs, dates, statuses, items, subtotal, discount, tax, shipping price, total price, customer names/emails, and billing/shipping addresses. Order Items and addresses remain parent groups without target-only subfield expansion. Order notes, tags, and tracking number/URL fields are not included.

Select Preserve Order IDs if staff need the original Gambio references. Inspect how the references appear in Shopify and compare sample dates, statuses, totals, addresses, and customer relationships before accepting the full transfer.

Select Coupons and CMS Pages

Coupons include descriptions, codes, per-customer usage limits, discount amounts/percentages, and start/end dates. Coupon titles, coupon dates, customer groups, per-coupon usage limits, status, and product/category assignments are not included. Test the discounts you plan to use and configure remaining eligibility rules separately.

CMS pages include titles, URLs, content, and thumbnails. Page creation dates, authors, and separate handle fields are not included. Review the transferred text, links, and thumbnail presentation; page data does not recreate the Gambio theme or navigation.

Separate Manufacturers, Taxes, Reviews, Blogs, and Multiple Languages entities are outside this route. Shopify target features or apps do not establish a transfer of data absent from the source scope. Keep a separate plan for any required translations, review content, or blog material.

Configure Additional Options

Create 301 Redirects connects old Gambio URLs to corresponding Shopify destinations. Preserve Order IDs retains the source references. Strip HTML Tags removes markup from product and category names. These are separate operations, so review each selection before the Demo.

Description Images transfers embedded images in product and category descriptions. Check these separately from the product-image group and category/page thumbnails. The option does not add blog migration or independent CMS-page embedded-image coverage.

Shopify Smart Collections uses product tags to organize migrated categories. Review the collection conditions and product membership, then prepare menus separately. Clear Target Data removes selected existing records; save a target backup and identify records that must remain before enabling it.

Review the Demo and Run Full Migration

Run a Free Demo and compare sample Shopify records with Gambio. Inspect product text, variants, prices, inventory, images, metadata, collections, customer addresses, orders, coupons, and CMS content. Save source and target examples when reporting unexpected values or formatting.

Resolve discrepancies before Full Migration. Once started, the transfer runs on LitExtension’s servers, so you can close the browser and return to check progress. Gambio can continue accepting orders while the transfer runs. Your team validates the completed automated transfer, with support available for migration issues.

Prepare SEO and Storefront Launch

Review migrated product/category metadata and page URLs. Test important old links against their new destinations, update internal links, and check navigation. Shopify redirects require the source path to return a missing-page response; verify the final behavior rather than assuming a rule works while the old path remains active.

Original product/category URL keys are not included, and redirects do not guarantee unchanged rankings. Prepare any remaining page metadata and test customer access, product selections, coupon eligibility, payments, shipping, taxes, transactional emails, and checkout on desktop and mobile before switching traffic.

Handle Recent Data, Cost, and Timing

Track new and changed Gambio records during the project. Recent Migration transfers new records, Smart Update handles changes to existing data, and Re-migration reruns the transfer. These operations are free for 60 days. Review the final update before completing the transition.
