Square to BigCommerce Migration

The standard migration scope includes Products and Product Categories, Customers, and Orders. Supported fields include product descriptions, prices, stock, dimensions, tags, variants, images, customer contact details and address data, plus order dates, statuses, items, totals, comments, and billing and shipping addresses.

Standalone Manufacturers, Taxes, Coupons, Reviews, CMS Pages, Blogs, and Multiple Languages are not part of the standard Square source scope.

No. Customer passwords are not included in the standard Square source export scope for this migration. Customer profiles can be transferred, but customers may need to set or reset their BigCommerce login credentials after launch.

No. Square Online themes, design settings, apps, and custom storefront functionality are platform-specific and are not transferred as standard migration data. Equivalent design and features should be recreated or configured for BigCommerce separately.

Yes. Variants, Thumbnail Image, and Additional Images are included in the standard Square product scope and can be mapped to corresponding BigCommerce product fields. The exact variant structure should be reviewed during the Demo Migration.

Yes. Supported customer data includes first name, last name, email, address, phone number, and status. Supported order data includes order date, status, items, prices, comments, customer details, and billing and shipping addresses.

Square customer fields such as date of birth, created date, and display name are not included when BigCommerce has no corresponding standard target field.

Yes. The migration runs separately from your live Square store, so you can continue operating while supported data is copied to BigCommerce.

Before launch, newly created records can be transferred with Recent Data Migration when applicable.

BigCommerce does not allow a source Order ID to become its internal BigCommerce Order ID. When preserving the original Square identifier is required, LitExtension can store that value in the BigCommerce External ID field instead.

Square does not provide Meta Title, Meta Description, or standard URL fields in the migration source scope used for this route, so those fields should not be assumed to transfer automatically.

When important Square URLs can be identified, plan 301 redirects to their new BigCommerce destinations and review redirects, metadata, canonical URLs, sitemap behavior, and crawl errors before launch.
