We provide both Recent Data Migration and Re-migration post-migration services to fulfill your eCommerce migration experience. Each service has its own purpose, and we know it can be a bit confusing to understand which one fits your needs. Don’t worry—we’re here to explain the differences and help you make the best choice for your store.
Core Functions
To start with, Recent Data Migration helps you to transfer data that have been newly added to your Source Store during your Full Migration or when you are setting up your Target Store after the transfer. For example, a new customer registers an account or a new order is placed on your Source Site while you are running your migration. This option ensures that your new store will go live without missing any customers or important information.
Meanwhile, the Re-migration service is used when you want to migrate your store all over again due to wrong setup, failed theme, hosting issues, incorrect customization and so on. These problems could result in missing data, corrupted display and other unexpected situations. Therefore, you need to re-migrate to ensure that your data will work properly on the target site.
Processing Time & Steps to Perform
Re-migration will take longer than Recent Data Migration because you will start the process over again with both the original data and the new ones.
The steps to perform the two tasks are also slightly different:
1. Recent Data Migration:
- Log in to your account on the LitExtension website and go to My Migrations.
- Click on the Recent Migration button.
- View the categorized new entities since your last full migration.
- Click Start New Entities Migration Now to initiate the transfer of newly added data.
2. Re-migration:
- Log in to your account on the LitExtension website and go to My Migrations.
- Click on the Re-Migration button.
- Follow the 3-step migration procedure, just like in your initial migration. In Step 2, make sure to select the Clear Current Data on Target Store option. This step is required to delete all existing data on your Target Store before starting the re-migration.
- Complete the process, and the data will be re-transferred to your Target Store.
Cost
1. Recent Data Migration
- Automated Migration: Free and unlimited for 60 days from the start of the full migration.
- All-in-One Migration Service: Free and unlimited for 30 days after the full migration is completed.
Condition: The total newly added data should not exceed 5% of the total data included in the initial migration package.
2. Remigration
- Automated Migration: Free and unlimited within 90 days from the start of the full migration.
- All-in-One Migration Service: Free and unlimited within 90 days after the full migration is completed.
