How to Import Reviews from AliExpress to Shopify: Step-by-Step Guide

by Aurora Hoang
Sep, 2026
in Platform Tutorials, Shopify

You can import AliExpress reviews to Shopify for free with Judge.me Ali Reviews Importer. Match the AliExpress listing to a product already in your Shopify store, paste its product URL into the importer, choose your filters, and check the import log. To display those reviews on your storefront, install the separate Judge.me Product Reviews app and enable its Review Widget.

Here is how to import reviews from AliExpress to Shopify in five steps:

  • Step 1: Install the app
  • Step 2: Choose a suitable AliExpress product
  • Step 3: Import its reviews with Judge.me AliExpress Reviews Importer
  • Step 4: Check the import results
  • Step 5: Display the reviews with Judge.me Product Reviews

You will also learn how to check product matches, troubleshoot missing reviews, compare importer apps, and present imported feedback accurately to US shoppers.

How to Import Reviews from AliExpress to Shopify for Free

For this tutorial, use the free Judge.me Ali Reviews Importer to retrieve reviews from an AliExpress listing that matches your Shopify product. The app supports rating, photo, and review-count filters. Bulk auto-match is currently limited to eligible early-program participants; weekly auto-import is a separate option that you must enable.

The importer does not display reviews by itself. Install Judge.me Product Reviews to show them with the Review Widget; its Forever Free plan includes that widget and a star-rating badge. Its Awesome plan is currently listed at $15 per month for additional features. Check the current app listings for pricing and eligibility before installing.

Before starting, make sure your Shopify product already exists and the AliExpress listing is the same product, including the relevant materials, features, and variants. A similar-looking item can produce misleading reviews if its specifications differ.

Start with one product and inspect the results before importing the rest of your catalog.

Step 1. Install the review import app

First, install the Judge.me AliExpress Reviews Importer from the Shopify App Store. From the app listing, click Install, select your Shopify store, and approve the required permissions. Once installed, open the importer from your Shopify admin to begin.

Step 1: Install the app
Step 1: Install the app

Step 2. Find the matching product on AliExpress

Find the AliExpress listing for the exact product you sell, with publicly available customer reviews. Compare its materials, model, and relevant variants with the Shopify item before copying the URL.

Once you have found the product:

  • Copy its full URL from your browser’s address bar.
  • Make sure the URL leads to a specific product page and ends in .html.
  • Do not use a collection, category, pop-up, or external redirect link.

Step 3. Import reviews from AliExpress to Shopify

In the Judge.me Importer admin, select the Shopify product that should receive the reviews. Paste the matching listing link into AliExpress URL, click Import, and confirm the product and source URL on the next screen before proceeding.

Set the import options:

  • Shopify product: Check the Shopify product that will receive the reviews. Judge.me fills in this field automatically.
  • AliExpress product URL: Confirm the AliExpress product link you entered earlier. This field is also filled in automatically.
  • Translate to: Choose one of the 13 supported languages or select Do not translate to retain the original language. AliExpress handles the translation.
  • Number of reviews to import: Enter the number of reviews you want to retrieve. Judge.me imports 15 by default and supports up to 500 reviews per import.
  • Email when import completed: Enable this option to receive an email when the import finishes.

For more control over the imported reviews, click Show advanced settings and configure the following options:

  • Country filters: Include all available countries or restrict the source to a market such as the USA. A USA filter does not mean the buyer purchased from your Shopify store.
  • Minimum review word count: Specify a minimum for meaningful written feedback. With a value of 0, Judge.me may import rating-only entries and use the Shopify product title as the review body.
  • Reviews must have pictures: Turn this option on if you only want to import reviews containing images.
  • Save settings as default import setting: Enable this option to reuse the same filters for future imports.

Once you have reviewed the settings, click Import reviews to begin.

Step 4. Check the import results

Judge.me will run the review import in the background, so you can leave the page while it processes.

To check its progress:

  1. Open the Judge.me AliExpress Importer admin.
  2. Scroll down to the Import logs section.
  3. Look for the message confirming that the review import has started.
  4. Refresh the page after a few minutes to see the final result.

A successful log shows the number imported. If no reviews were found, check that the URL leads to a reviewed product and loosen restrictive country, word-count, or photo filters one at a time. Read a sample of both positive and critical reviews to catch incorrect product matches or translation errors.

If you enabled Email when import completed, Judge.me will also send you a notification once the process finishes.

Step 5. Display the reviews on your storefront

The Judge.me AliExpress Reviews Importer transfers reviews to Shopify, but it does not display them on your storefront by itself. For that, you will also need the Judge.me Product Reviews app.

To display your imported reviews:

  1. Install Judge.me Product Reviews if it is not already connected to your store.
  2. Add the Review Widget to your Shopify product page.
  3. Open the corresponding product on your storefront and check that the reviews appear correctly.

Open the live Shopify product page to confirm the text, images, and rating appear under the correct item. Identify the source clearly, for example, “Reviews from AliExpress buyers of this product.” Judge.me does not mark AliExpress imports as verified because they cannot be matched to qualifying orders in your Shopify store.

When to Involve LitExtension in a Shopify Migration

For a straightforward import to an existing Shopify product, start with the app above. If you are also moving an ecommerce store to Shopify or have complex source-to-product mapping, our LitExtension All-in-One Migration Service can assess the available source data and the project scope.

An AliExpress product page is not an entire ecommerce store. Review text, photos, dates, and product relationships may require different handling depending on how the data can be obtained and reused. Confirm the supported fields, rights, and source-to-product mapping for your project before promising a direct review migration.

What Are the Best Apps to Import AliExpress Reviews to Shopify?

Shopify has no built-in AliExpress review importer. The tools below differ in whether they import only, also display reviews, or support other sources. Do not compare apps by their import count alone. The number you can retrieve, the number you can publish on each product, and the widgets available on a free plan may be different. Review current plan terms and try one matched product before importing a full catalog.

Here are five options and the trade-offs that matter most.

1. Judge.me Ali Reviews Importer

Pricing:

  • Judge.me AliExpress Reviews Importer: Free
  • Judge.me Product Reviews: Forever Free ($0) | Awesome ($15/month)

Judge.me Ali Reviews Importer offers free AliExpress imports and filters for rating, country, word count, photos, and translation. It has a separate display app. Bulk auto-match is available to early-program participants; check eligibility before relying on it for a large catalog.

Judge.me Product Reviews

You can enable weekly auto-import for specific products. When using auto-match, check every suggested AliExpress listing against the Shopify item; title similarity alone does not prove the products are identical.

Pros Cons
  • Free unlimited AliExpress imports
  • Single-product imports; eligible stores can access bulk auto-match
  • Includes filters, translation, and optional weekly auto-import
  • Reviews can be exported for use with another app
  • A separate review app is needed to display reviews
  • Imported reviews are not marked as verified
  • Advanced display features require the paid Judge.me plan
  • Primarily designed for AliExpress reviews

Best for: Merchants who want a free, focused solution for importing AliExpress reviews.

2. Ali Reviews: AI Product Review

Pricing: Free plan available; paid plans start at $14.95/month (check current listing)

Ali Reviews is an all-in-one review app built for dropshipping stores. It lets you import, manage, and display reviews from AliExpress and other marketplaces without using separate tools. The Free plan supports unlimited AliExpress imports but limits each product to 10 published reviews, while paid plans provide higher publishing limits and more advanced customization.

Compare the number of reviews the app imports with the number its plan allows you to publish per product. Check the current plan for widgets, translation, and marketplace-source limits before upgrading.

Pros Cons
  • Unlimited AliExpress imports on the Free plan
  • Imports from several marketplaces
  • Includes AI bulk import and translation
  • Provides review widgets and automated requests
  • Free plan only publishes 10 reviews per product
  • Higher publishing limits require a paid plan
  • Advanced AI translation is limited to higher plans
  • The number of features may feel excessive for a one-time import

Best for: Dropshipping merchants who want an all-in-one importer and review-management app.

3. Opinew Product Reviews App

Pricing: Free plan available; check the current listing for paid tiers

Opinew combines AliExpress and eBay review imports with on-site widgets and requests for new customer reviews. Its free Shopify App Store plan currently lists 100 imports from eBay and AliExpress, so check the limit if you have a large catalog.

Email and SMS requests can help collect feedback from your own buyers after launch. Imported AliExpress reviews should remain clearly identified as external feedback; do not attach a verified-purchase label that implies an order with your store.

Pros Cons
  • Supports in-app and Chrome-extension imports
  • Works with popular dropshipping apps
  • Combines importing, collecting, and displaying reviews
  • Offers strong marketing and customer-support integrations
  • Free plan is limited to 100 imports
  • Recurring imports require a higher plan
  • Higher tiers are relatively expensive
  • More complex than a dedicated review importer

Best for: Growing stores that need ongoing review automation and integrations with their dropshipping or marketing tools.

4. Trustoo Ali Reviews Importer

Pricing: Free

Trustoo Ali Reviews Importer is a free tool for importing reviews from AliExpress, Shopee, DSers, and Etsy. Its one-click workflow and support for several sources make it especially useful for merchants who do not rely exclusively on AliExpress.

The app can bring over multilingual reviews and allows you to export the imported data as a CSV file. This gives you more flexibility if you want to store, edit, or transfer the reviews to a compatible review-display app later.

Trustoo focuses on importing and exporting reviews. Confirm which display app and CSV format you will use before importing, and inspect the published result for accurate source attribution.

Pros Cons
  • Completely free to use
  • Supports AliExpress, Shopee, DSers, and Etsy
  • Includes multilingual importing
  • Can export imported reviews to CSV
  • More limited review-management features
  • May require another app to display and manage reviews
  • Fewer advanced automation options
  • Smaller user base than established alternatives

Best for: Merchants who need a free importer for AliExpress and other product-sourcing channels.

5. Loox Product Reviews App

Pricing: Free plan available; check current paid plans and import eligibility

Loox is best known for its visually polished photo and video review widgets, which is why it’s become a favorite among fashion, beauty, and home-goods brands that rely heavily on customer photos to sell products. If you want to find an easy-to-use app when learning how to import reviews from AliExpress to Shopify,  Loox is a reasonable option to bring your existing AliExpress feedback along for the ride rather than starting from zero.

Loox Product Reviews

Loox documents an AliExpress import flow using its “Import to Loox” bookmarklet, followed by a review preview. Check its current plan for the widgets and import capacity you need rather than assuming every display feature is free.

Pros Cons
  • Strong photo and video review presentation
  • Offers polished, mobile-friendly widgets
  • Includes AI summaries, translation, and smart sorting
  • Connects reviews with major shopping and social channels
  • More expensive than most review importers
  • Check current order-based and recurring charges
  • Too feature-heavy for a simple one-time import
  • Advanced visual and integration features require a paid plan

Best for: Fashion, beauty, home, and lifestyle stores that rely heavily on visual reviews.

How to Import Reviews from AliExpress to Shopify: FAQs

How do I take reviews from AliExpress to Shopify?

Install Judge.me Ali Reviews Importer, select the matching Shopify product, paste the AliExpress product URL, choose filters, and run the import. Install Judge.me Product Reviews and add its Review Widget to display the result. Both apps have free options.

How do I import reviews from AliExpress?

Use a review importer such as Judge.me, Ali Reviews, Opinew, Trustoo, or Loox. For Judge.me, select your Shopify product, paste a matching AliExpress URL ending in .html, set filters, then check the import log and live product page.

How do I move my whole store from AliExpress to Shopify?

AliExpress is a marketplace, not your own ecommerce store. If you are moving another store to Shopify while sourcing products from AliExpress, LitExtension can assess the store migration. Confirm separately what AliExpress review data is available and can be reused.

Is it legal to import AliExpress reviews to Shopify?

There is no blanket answer for every use. Product accuracy, review authenticity, reuse rights, and how the reviews are represented all matter. Clearly identify the AliExpress source and never imply those buyers purchased from your Shopify store. Consult the FTC consumer reviews guidance and seek legal review for your specific use.

Why aren’t my imported review images showing?

Check whether the source reviews actually contain images and whether your import filters excluded them. Then confirm that the Judge.me Review Widget is enabled and inspect the correct product page. An unavailable original image file or regional access restriction can also prevent a photo from loading.

Final Words

For an existing Shopify product, Judge.me offers a free way to import matching AliExpress reviews. The importer retrieves the feedback; the separate Product Reviews app displays it. Check the source match, import log, and live page before publishing.

If you are also migrating an ecommerce store, LitExtension can evaluate your source data and product mapping. Confirm the review fields and reuse rights for your particular project before adding marketplace feedback to the scope.
