In general, the All-in-One LitExtension migration service is carried out in these stages:

Stage #1: Demo migration for categories, products & customers

First, LitExtension will showcase a glimpse of what’s possible. You can choose to see either a demo of selected categories, products, and customers, or we can jump right into migrating everything at once.

• If you opt for the demo migration, we’ll present a snapshot including full taxes, full manufacturers, and full blogs, along with selected categories and 100 sample products & customers. In case your dataset is less than 500 categories, we will migrate all of them.
  Once you review and approve the demo migration results, we’ll seamlessly transition to migrating the entirety of your data.
• Otherwise, we will directly migrate everything without the need for a demo if your total data volume falls below 2,000 entities. However, if you prefer, we’re more than happy to arrange a demo at your request to ensure everything aligns perfectly with your expectations.

Stage #2: Demo migration for orders

Once we’ve migrated all your essential data—categories, products, and customers—we’ll move on to the next phase: migrating orders.

We’ll begin by showcasing a demo migration of 100 orders. Then, you’ll have the opportunity to review the demo results and ensure they meet your expectations. Once you give us the green light, we’ll swiftly transition to migrating the complete set of orders, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience for you.

Stage #3: Recent Data Migration

Ensuring your Target store stays up-to-date is crucial for a seamless transition. That’s why we offer the option to run a Recent Migration after completing the Full Migration in Stage 2.

Recent Migration transfers any newly added data during the migration process, such as fresh customer registrations or new orders, from the Source store to the Target. This feature, included in the 3-month support package from your order date, guarantees that your new store launches with the latest information.

To activate this feature, simply let us know the date you’d like to run the Recent Migration. Bear in mind that it’s important NOT to move your Source store domain BEFORE running this migration to avoid any disruptions.

Special notes for WooCommerce/Magento migration

If your source or target platform is Magento or WooCommerce, please take note of the following information. Otherwise, feel free to disregard this section.

When it comes to migrating data to or from WooCommerce or Magento, there are a few important considerations to keep in mind:

• Data Structure Differences: WooCommerce and Magento have distinct data structures compared to your source or target site. This necessitates transforming your data to align with the structure of destination platforms. Custom coding and mapping of data fields are often required to ensure accurate data transfer.
• Plugin Complexity: Both WooCommerce and Magento offer extensive plugin options, resulting in data being stored in different ways based on platform configurations. This variability can pose challenges during migration, particularly in understanding how data is stored or which plugins have been utilized. While our migration service typically handles default data provided by each platform, custom or third-party app data may require special attention and may not be included in the migration by default.
• Data Migration Coverage: At LitExtension, we specialize in migrating various standard and custom data types. However, certain types of custom data may necessitate additional fees for migration or may not be supported due to technical constraints. During our demo migration, we’ll thoroughly examine your data and provide a comprehensive report highlighting any specific fields that may not be able to be migrated. Our team will work closely with you to determine the optimal migration strategy tailored to your unique needs.

Throughout the migration process, it’s advisable to refrain from making any changes to your stores to prevent potential conflicts. If there is any necessary modification, please consult us first so that we can come up with the best solution.
