However, <strong>passwords cannot be migrated<\/strong> because of Shopify\u2019s encryption and security policies. This means all migrated customer accounts will appear as <strong>\u201cdeactivated\u201d<\/strong> in your Shopify admin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shopify Customer accounts use passwordless sign-in, so your customers don\u2019t need their old passwords or account activation emails.
