Once your migration is complete and you’ve verified your Target Store is working correctly, follow these steps to switch your domain over:<\/p>\n

  1. Test your Target Store thoroughly first<\/strong>. Before going live, double-check your migrated data and test checkout, payment, and shipping settings on your Target Cart to make sure everything works as expected.<\/li>\n
  2. Update your DNS settings<\/strong>. Point your domain’s DNS records to your Target Store’s server or hosting provider. This is what redirects visitors from your old URL to your newly migrated store.<\/li>\n
  3. Set up redirects for your old URLs<\/strong>: Redirect the links to your old product or category pages so they automatically forward visitors to their corresponding pages on your new store.<\/li>\n
  4. Allow time for DNS propagation<\/strong>. Domain changes can take anywhere from a few hours to 48 hours to fully take effect across the internet, depending on your DNS provider.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    We recommend timing this switch during a lower-traffic period for your store, and keeping your Source Store accessible in the background until you’ve confirmed your Target Store is fully stable.<\/p>\n
