Products with multiple variants, images, inventory records, and metafields usually take longer to process than simple products. Large numbers of customers, historical orders, or image files can also increase the migration time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another important factor is Shopify\u2019s API rate limit. Shopify controls how quickly apps can create and update data to keep its platform stable. Its GraphQL Admin API provides the following processing capacity:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><thead><tr><th class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">Shopify plan<\/th><th class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">API capacity restored<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">Standard Shopify plans<\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">100 points per second<\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">Advanced Shopify<\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">200 points per second<\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">Shopify Plus<\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">1,000 points per second<\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">Shopify for enterprise<\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">2,000 points per second<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><br>These points represent Shopify\u2019s API processing capacity, not the number of entities we can migrate per second. Complex data, such as products with multiple variants, images, inventory, and metafields, uses more points. Shopify also caps each GraphQL query at 1,000 points, so larger requests must be divided into smaller ones.
